Centerline Designs, Inc is a full service design firm, specializing in historic preservation and environmentally friendly residential architecture. Established in 1994, while pursuing a double Masters Degree in Architecture and Historic Preservation from the University of Maryland, Centerline Designs began as a small group of friends building additions, decks, etc... in the DC area. Headed by John Wright, Centerline Designs has been a design/ build firm for over 8 years. In 1997 CLD moved to historic Bucks Co., PA and began to focus on renovation and restoration work on many historic homes in the area. CLD specializes in designing new additions to historic houses, blending salvaged materials and matching details of existing materials and craftsmanship, in an effort to seamlessly blend "old and new".

CLD has also been involved and influenced by the growing trend of homeowners, in search of environmentally friendly materials and construction methods available. CLD has maintained a web site devoted to "green architecture" for over four years at www.reddawn.com. Reddawn is a newsletter styled site, focusing on the delivery of new information concerning the field of green architecture, including product reviews, book reviews, bulletin board and featured articles on relevant subjects.

Overall, Centerline designs, Inc. is a company that has been involved in residential construction for 15 years, working as a design/ build firm for over 8 years, and focusing on all aspects of historic preservation and environmentally friendly architecture within the residential field. Currently, CLD is moving toward a design only situation, in an effort to devote more attention to the design process. Gaining years of experience in the building process, has given my design process a very a strong sense of reality, and a confidence that only comes with hammering nails on a job site for so many years.

Centerline Designs has offices in Bucks Co., PA and Glen Ridge, NJ, with projects locations from Philadelphia to New York City.
